Miriam, a former senior schoolteacher, retrained and registered as a Counselling Psychologist in 2012. Curious about how people manage serious life challenges, her Doctoral Thesis focused on exploring the processes people use to navigate adversity.

Miriam enjoys working with clients to help them discover and draw on their courage and resilience. Miriam works with adults of all ages. She has a special interest in working with clients over the age of 65, helping them to navigate the changes that accompany this time of life.

Miriam believes that openness, warmth and compassion form the basis of a good therapeutic relationship. She is committed to walking alongside her clients as they explore their experience and make thoughtful and proactive decisions about their future.

Miriam’s therapeutic approach is client-centred and collaborative. She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive and Mindfulness modalities, Existential, Narrative and Internal Family Systems approaches, EMDR, and EFT Tapping.
